The game has not crashed and is still running, it has just shifted out of focus. but as soon as I move the mouse slightly it switches out of the game back to my desktop. I haven't really changed anything but I did reboot my computer a day or so ago and now the game will actually launch even though I didn't change anything. I've tinkered around with shortcut compatibility options a bit but was unable to get the game to launch.

Recently, I decided to try installing Exile to check it out again and to my dismay the game does not run out of the box on Windows 7 圆4 sadly. I previously played and solved the first 2 games many years ago on a Windows XP PC, and I had installed Myst 3: Exile on XP before and started a game but didn't get too far into it and never picked it back up. Video Card:Ė4 MB DirectX 9.I own the "10th Anniversary DVD Edition" of the Myst collection which includes the original Myst Masterpiece Edition, Riven, and Myst 3: Exile. The WASD keyboard keys are used for walking forward, backward, and sideways, while the mouse changes the player’s point of view. The final navigation mode, known as “Free Look” or “Advanced” mode, allows players to navigate and observe the Ages freely. The “Classic Plus” mode uses the control scheme of Myst III: Exile and Myst IV: Revelation movement is still node-based but players can rotate their view 360 degrees in any direction. Players advance to other nodes by clicking on portions of the screen. The first, “Classic mode”, uses the same controls used in Myst and Riven Ages are divided into locations of interest, or nodes, and the player’s view is fixed at every node. End of Ages offers players three navigation modes to explore. Players travel across several worlds known as “Ages”, solving puzzles and gathering story clues by reading books or observing the environment. Myst V: End of Ages is an adventure game taking place in the first person. Players learn to draw on the slates which influence the Bahro and inevitably provide the solution to the traditional enigma’s of the Myst universe. A new race known as the Bahro are a key element to the new puzzles encountered throughout the game. Players are sent to four worlds to collect slates that will unlock the tablets potential, which will then be used by the Grower to fully restore the D’ni civilization.
